From 50 A Day To 0 Without A Step

I have smoked for about 25 years. It started at school and until last week I was getting through 2 x 24 packs of Fortuna (Spanish cigs equivilent to Winston or B&H).

At 45 and fairly intelligent by most peoples standards, you would expect me to be thinking the time was coming when i should be thinking of quitting. But, whilst i knew all the stats, the dangers, the inevitability that it was likely to end in an early painful cancerous death way before my time was due, did i think about quitting?

Naaaah…and frankly if you are a smoker…you would probably be exactly the same.

So there it was. I smoke. I don’t want to quit but at the back of my brain there is still that little nagging dent in my invincibility that I don’t want to die either.

So what did I do?

I went electronic.

Electronic? ….Yea, electronic.

More specifically, I bought an Inlife Elite electronic cigarette and without missing a beat I went from 2 packs of fortuna to a standard high nicotine cartridge a day. It took about two days to completely transition to the slightly differing taste, but hey, they used to be proud that it ‘only took two weeks to get used to the taste of silk cut’. When it comes to electric cigarettes you are definitely spoilt for choice with an ever-increasing number of brands appearing daily online…..or are you?

The fact is, that if you look close enough you will discover that many of the brands that you see online are in fact the same product manufactured in China by an ever increasing group of chinese factories cheaply branded to look like different products. In fact anyone with as little as $10,000 can set up their own brand and off you go! As the competition increases, for what is expected to be a $50 billion dollar indusrty over the next 5 years, the warning signals should start to go off about how some manufacturers continue to undercut the costs in the industry.

In a recession as deep as the one we are currently experiencing it difficult to keep a poitive attitude when it comes to the future of your job and the security of your family.

I am sure that for the past weeks the workers at GM and Chrysler have been dreading the news that arrived for so many of them that their job was gone. Salesmen and women acroos the auto industry dealership are set to lose up to 300,000 jobs in the near future. Thats a lot of anxiety to go around.
