Electric Cigarettes – Top 10

1. Smoking electronic cigarettes wont kill you – They contain no known cancer causing agents

2.  Smoking e-cigs will save you money – Save 60% on the cost of smoking

3.  Smoking electric cigarettes will mean you don’t smell , Your clothes won’t stink, your home won’t stink, your breath won’t stink, your car wont stink.

4. Smoking e-cigs gives you back your energy – Once you have stopped smoking tobacco you will actually feel the effects of the nicotine you are smoking. Its like smoking the ‘uncut’ stuff. 5. Did I mention smoking electronic means you won’t die! (This is factually incorrect. Of course you will die..just that a non tobacco smoker statistically lives 20 years longer than a smoker.)

6. Editorial correction: We mentioned that electronic cigarettes would save you money ” up to 60% od the cost of smoking”. We failed to mention that if you live an extra 20 years due to transitioning to e-cigs this will cause you the extra expense of seeing your family and friends for an extra 20 years…this could be seen as adding to the cost of smoking electronic…..lets just call it even eh!

7.  If you aren’t convinced by now…your name must be Keanu.

8. Still reading……they wont kill you……they cost less…….you live an extra 20 years…..and you dont smell…….

It has been a long road travelled to reach what many would have said was straight-forward logic, but the UK government department, MHRA, is finally starting to admit the potential benefit that electronic cigarettes or e-cigs may have in reducing the numbers of people smoking tobacco.

Even at this point though, they are still wavering to sucumb to drug company pressures to classify the new technology as a medicine. The same drug company lobby that has effectively been ripping off smokers with NRT treatments like patches and gum that have been shown to be expensive and completely ineffective in helping people stop smoking. (The effectiveness of these NRT treatments has been gauged at 4-5%, a level lower than that of the human will to stop smoking on your own with no aids, which was measured at 10%!)

The race is on in a lucrative market, (Tabacco sales amounted to over 12.6 billion pounds (2007) and amongst the myriad of companies currently selling electric cigarettes in the UK, there is only one company, inLife LLC , who manufacture refills in any sort of controlled enviroment.

The fact that chinese manufactured cigarettes have flooded the market with a lack of labelling has raised concerns over what the cartridges from China may contain. Recent scares with Chinese milk and lead in toys meant that a product such as electronic cigarettes must have some sort of regulation to stop a similar catastrophe.

inLife, whose Marquee electronic cigarette uses refills manufactured in an FDA registered laboratory seem to lead the way to the future of the industry and their launch in the UK at the beginning of the year is seen as a stepping stone to wider expansion across Europe.

In any event, now that governments are beginning to see past the mis-information put forward by Tobacco and drug company fronts like ASH the acceptance of the e-cig as a logical alternative to smoking tobacco may start to see the use of the devices becoming more widespread

Electronic Cigarette Co’s Win FDA Court Battle

It official, the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) does not have regulatory powers over electronic cigarettes.

In a ruling by a Washington Federal court, the judge critised the FDA for overstepping their authority in seizing imports of electronic cigarettes by two importers and by trying to regulate the industry.

In his ruling the judge agreed with the electronic cigarette submission and said that electronic cigarettes were the ‘functional equivilent of traditional cigarettes’

The FDA recently gained the power to regulate tobacco products but as electronic cigarettes do not contain tobacco ( or the carcinogens contained therin!) then they were not within the remit of powers of the FDA to regulate.

Electronic cigarettes supplied by inlife LLC are the only company so far to manufacture their refill cartridges in an FDA registered laboratory and by so doing have their ingredients independently verified.

Somebody told me the other day that the top 2 most ‘promised’ New Years resolutions were;

1. Stop smoking Tobacco

2. Make some more money in the coming year.

Well it’s nice to know that this year i have achieved both even before the New Year has started!

The fact is, that as a 50 a day smoker, I never had any intention of quitting or even wanting to quit. Whether it was the addiction that drove this sentiment I do not know. But that was the reality.

When I came across Inlife and it’s range of smoking devices, my first thought was to have something to smoke when I was out and about more than something I could use full time. The result however was a different story.

What I found was that once I had used the Inlife Marquee for a day I tried smoking a cigarette and almost immediately put it out. The reason was that after just a day smoking, what is effectively just nicotine, water and propylene glycol (a food additive found in things like ice-cream), I could literally taste the 4000 or so chemicals that effectively kill you in tobacco.

I put it down to being clear the palate because I couldn’t taste the crud before. The electronic cigarette became like smoking a fine wine over a glass that had had a cigarette put out in it at a party!

So by the second day, I was done with tobacco and now enjoy my Inlife marquee electric cigarette like it’s my new best friend! It is great with my first cup of tea in the morning. After dinner, I don’t even have to leave the table. There is no smell with the electronic cigarette and no lingering smoke. The water vapour you produce and blow smoke rings into the air simply evaporates quickly and leaves no evidence it ever existed.

Someone posed the question to me that was the trace element of nicotine that is bound to be found in the vapour harmful?

About as harmful as the trace of caffeine in the vapour coming off your after dinner cup of coffee I replied.  Both caffeine and nicotine come from the samealkaloid  group of chemicals with very similar properties.

Neither are harmful.

I have been around a lot of coffee drinkers and never had the urge to take up their habit!

You see its the ‘extras’ in tobacco that kill you. The Benzene, Formaldahyde, Arsenic and Ammonia to name but a few of the 63 known carcinogens in a tobacco cigarette. They are the bad guys but I also know that it matters little to a smoker whether it is going to kill them or not. If you smoke, you smoke. Patches and gum have been proven to be totally ineffective and useless.

So for all you fervent anti-smokers out there who think they can all just stop at a moments notice. I suggest you start plugging electronic cigarettes as the solution in an imperfect world to a serious problem.

Which brings me onto New years resolution number two. Make some extra Money.

Inlife LLC are a Californian based company who market their electronic cigarettes through Network marketing or MLM, Multi Level marketing.

With the tobacco industry estiamted to be worth several hundred billion dollars a year across the US, Canada, UK and Europe, this holds quite a large market for their new technology products. Add the fact they are competing against unreliable products from China where you never know what you are ingesting or when the cheap cigarette will pack up and leave you stranded and you will see that the Inlife products containing refills manufactured in an FDA registered laboratory (only company that does) and solid state battery technology that you can rely on means that there is definetely money to be made!

So go on, for once you have an opportunity to actually make those top 2 New Years resolutions come true.

I hope writing this article is my Christmas present to you and it enables you to see that you can truly give a christmas present to yourself and all of the family around you that love you….without having to quit smoking…just quit smoking tobacco.

Here’s to a fantastic 2010

You know that when you mention a product in the same phrase as an A-list celebrity that someone is going to make a killing. Companies can pay millions to place products in movies and on TV shows but we are wise to the ‘product placement’ of the advertisers and it’s effect on us these days is somewhat lessened.

But when a celebrity chooses to endorse a product because they want to use it…it can be the making of that company, or product line.

We have all seen that when the First Lady, Michele Obama wears an ‘off the rack’ dress, which she does quite often, the stores are emptied overnight as hordes of ladies clamour to wear the latest Obama look.

Now if only we could sneak a picture of the President with an electronic cigarette…wouldn’t that be a thing!

But until then, there are plenty of celebs coming out in favour of the latest electronic device. Chris Moyles,  Sarah Harding,  Kate Moss are just a few of the names already being associated with using the carcinogenic free smoking devices. Tom Petty, Kevin Connolly & Kevin Federline across the pond have also taken up smoking electronic cigarettes in favour of tobacco or maybe just to be able to smoke in smoke ban city…LA.

As the wave of names grow the electronic cigarette will become the clubbing accessory for smokers in 2010 just as its tobacco counterpart was back in the day, when Mad Men and Lucky Strike were the icons of cool.

Of course, changes in social habits and the introduction of new technology have made there mark before on the world. The introduction of television sets in the late 40′s saw small sales figures initially leading to an explosion in 1951 from 130,000 units in 1950 to 51 million in 1951. It was a good year to be in TV sales when the new fangled technology finally took off!

And so it will be again,  for those lucky enough to have realised the opportunity that the electronic cigarette industry is dangling in front of them at the moment.

There is only one company that offers individuals the chance to be a part of this shift in social habits. For a very small initial outlay you could be riding the wave of this new technology all the way to the bank.

The hardened smoker might say…it’s not the same, it doesn’t work….

Well as a 50 a day man for the past 20 years I can say on the life of my family….that it does and I moved from tobacco to the Inlife Elite electronic cigarette without missing a beat. I didn’t stop smoking. I just stopped smoking tobacco.
